The Granbury Citizens Police Academy was started in 2003.
There have been 7 graduating classes and to date a total
of 157 residents from both the City of Granbury and Hood
County are graduates and are now participating with the experience of the CPAA program, with the coordination of the Granbury Police Department and with other, numerous contributors.
Historically, following the success of our first class, the Alumni Association was formed
and continues to grow with about 96 permanent Alumni Members. CPAA has offered a viable, conscientious program thanks to
the time and energy of our sponsers; and credit is well deserved to all who have participated and continue to maintain CPAA's purpose.
As part of this community program, each year we
provide numerous "breakouts" during a ten week course, including
investigations, patrol operations and procedures, traffic, juvenile
procedures, bike patrol, narcotics, Admin, etc. You can find out more by contacting us.
