The August 2008 monthly meeting for the Granbury Police Departments Citizen Police Academy Alumni will be held at the ALAMO. Below you will find President BIFF PETERSONS’ agenda for the evening and I encourage everyone to attend. This will be the last meeting prior to the Thunder Over Texas event during the Labor Day weekend and I know you will want to be a part of the Dart Run to help raise monies for the continued ALUMNI effort(s) throughout the year. Several other things are happening and your input is needed and requested. As it stands right now the 2009 Citizens Police Academy is FULL, which says a lot about what we are doing to involve our community and I appreciate each and every one of you and your help in plugging in potential class members for upcoming academies. If you know someone who would still like to apply for the upcoming session please have them contact me, there are ALWAYS a few cancellations prior to the academy starting in January each year. The ALUMNI always does a very good job of thanking those individuals and/or companies for their support of our organization and you will have a chance to participate in doing that very thing at the upcoming August meeting. Your elected Officers and board of directors are working hard to move the group forward and involve you in those type things that promote the men and women of the Granbury Police Department as well as the department itself. For that, thanks to each and every one of you for coming back after your graduation and being involved within the CPA ALUMNI and the many great things you do to support our efforts. In closing, the department recently held its annual OFFICER OF THE YEAR nomination process and Officers Kevin Clapp and Justin McGuire were the two finalists. Congratulations are in order for both Officers regardless of the winner. Results of the election process by their peers will be released soon. See you soon. |
